Positive first use from Luton Airport

I used Kapten last night from Luton Airport to South West London as the trains had finished for the night as my flight was massively delayed. It worked out at £77.85 to South Wimbledon... Uber was £93 so a no-brainer. My driver was safe and smooth and helped with my luggage. I happen to like the 'we pay our taxes locally' statement on their app. From not knowing them, to getting a good experience first time I'm giving them a 5 star rate.

Even though the service level varies a lot depending on the driver, I think Kapten has a good customer service. I did not have a bad experience with them. The only issue is that you always wait longer than it first shows. Let's say it shows 3 minutes, you'll wait for 8.Update: I had the same experience yesterday (April 26, 2021). Showed 3 minutes, waited for 10, still 5 minutes to go, I had to cancel... I’m afraid I won’t use the service again.

Considerably more reliable and cheaper …

Considerably more reliable and cheaper now than Uber in my experience (whose app I have now deleted due to constant issues). Have used many times and drivers have always been on time and professional.

its not that bad

I had my fair share of cancelations with this app but most of the times it was fine and much cheaper than uber. also they send a lot of dicount codes. Customer service takes ages to reply (got a reply after over a week) but they issued my refund for the canceled trip.

Better than uber

Ridden 4 times so far after getting a discount code for £5 first 5 rides. So far had no issue with a taxi being close by, decent cars and friendly drivers. Much cheaper than Uber

Give them a try....

After reading all these bad reviews I decided to try it anyway as I have a voucher code for it and a friend said it was good.Both times the divers arrived within 3 mins and were very pleasant. Perhaps the level service depends on where you are based. I am in London so maybe the service is better?My drivers were Abdifatah and Shah if that helps anyone in my area.

Just as good as uber so far, I don't really rate uber that much to be honest and I like Kapten because it calculates a fixed price, unlike uber. I'm still in my 80% discount but the three times I've used them it's been quick and nice drivers. Fun point for anyone opting for uber over this for the drivers, people can sign up to be a driver for all of them - Lyft, Uber, Bolt, Kapten etc. So chances are your driver will have all apps open and will work for the busiest one, so don't think that uber has better drivers. I've also had ubers cancel on me, take my money and have rude drivers, chances are it'll happen with kapten at some point too! At least with kapten they pick up where requested, unlike bolt and uber.For 80% off your first 5 rides you should give them a go...

Love it. Much better than Uber.

Used a couple of times now. The actual app does leave a lot to be desired with showing the driver on it's way to you. But had to use twice in unknown locations for me and they still found me. Love that they give you exact price so if your driver goes the wrong way that's longer, that's on them, extra price not forced onto you like with uber
