Masterclass employ only FAMOUS people. I see a big problem with that. Gordon Ramsay is not the best chef in the world, just the most FAMOUS. In this sense, the learning platform is highly biased toward FAME, and they make people believe that if one is famous, it is because the fame is deserved, but this is false. Fame is also due to stupid and common audiences, chance, luck, having the right connections and knowing the right people. Also, many people become famous for the WRONG reasons, take Ramsay, did he become famous because he’s the best chef ever? No, because he shouted and verbally abused people, and because shocking sells and the audience is generally common, vulgar and degenerate, buys it. It wants to be entertained, not learn, because learning is work. I once saw a bit of The Sopranos, and I could not understand what people liked in such a stupid series. It's hardly edifying, Tony Soprano doesn't remind me of Socrates. Also, Masterclass says that it “vets” the tutors, as opposed as other platform. Yes it does, on the basis of FAME first and foremost. But if you understand how this works, you'll see how stupid it gets: the more someone is famous, the more people will like them, and the more famous that someone gets. I personally don’t think Scorsese deserves all his fame: I think his films are mostly stupid and vulgar, the characters are stupid, and the plots equally so. What's great about a movie like Casino? It's no George Orwell. And I don’t like the actors either. I have never thought De Niro is a great actor. I find him boring and dull, but not because there's no "entertainment ", but because it's all intellectually dull. Same applies to Masterclass: people who subscribe there are mostly common and intellectually dull. In a word, on Masterclass.com you will also find a lot of OVERRATED people. Not all are overrated, of course, like Neil De Grasse and others. But De Grasse got chosen mainly because he's well known, and SECONDLY, because he's very good. masterclass is too quick to call GENIUSES the famous people they employ: most of them are NOT geniuses, and it is obvious that Masterclass doesn't know what it talks about. I generally see a problem with how Masterclass “vets” the tutors. And lets face it, a lot of them are school dropouts and uneducated people. They became famous, mostly because again, 1. they found a stupid audience, and 2. chance and luck, i.e. being at the right time in the right place, etc.

MasterClass captures some unique content with great "Masters". Where it lacks seems to be in the "Class" portion as a majority of the curriculum seems to be developed after the interviews are had. Discover simplified course structure prior to filming would result in much more educational content. Though the audience for MasterClass does seem to be more entertainment-based and less actual education.

Before that I thought, “I am not the type to get depressed, I got this”. No way. I am not depressed but I am angry (another type of reaction) Ok, so I was affected.I started remote psychological therapy, my insurance suddenly started covering phone call therapy. I thought, “why not?”.My therapist said, “get your mind to go somewhere else. Maybe start a separate Instagram account on puppies”. Hmmmm. Then, Master Class is on my Facebook news feed. Neil deGrasse Tyson is offering a course?!!I took the chance. Boy, was it worth it!These exceptional people, the people who created miracles with their careers are talking to us. I felt them talking directly to me.Each class is uplifting. I recommend you to have something to write with, you will get the best advise.So, amidst a global pandemic and protests on injustice, you can listen to some of the best exceptional people as they light the torch and tell you how to be great.

We love Neil, have seen him in person and think he imparts great knowledge!!

I had never heard of Elaine Welteroth before taking her master class, but I will now make sure others do. Her career design was insightful, her charisma and directness were refreshing. I am now on my second listen of her class but new learnings: "zone of genius", values over all else, career map designed to show multiple sources of income.

Really was impressed with classes until a year later realised they had AUTORENEWED. Guys beware this is too much!! Have had pathetic reasons for auto renewal. I didn't sign up for auto renewal just one year. I have yet to hear anything regarding my refund. Terrible considering I actually enjoyed a year's service!

Every single MasterClass I've viewed has been superbly produced and well structured. Robust content, to-the-point, broken into easy-to-consume "chapters" and all around first-class.

Overall I am very happy with MasyerClass. I bought it primarily for the dog training. I was disappointed that there was only one class on painting and wish it was something other than spray painting.

So much more than I expected! I am only halfway through my first Masterclass on screenwriting with Aaron Sorkin, and it is already worth the price. I plan to take many more classes, so those will all be a bonus.
